Shoplifitng incidents have risen dramatically this month in Bradford and the city's police are having a busy time dealing with them all. Last month 85 shoplifitng cases were reported to police and so far this month the figure is 77.

Bradford City Council is to be asked to agree to the purchase of Whitelow Hotel, Bare, Morecambe, as a seaside holiday home for old people in the Corporation's Welfare establishments. It is planned to use the hotel all the year round. The Corporation Finance Estimates sub-committee yesterday recommended the Welfare Committee's proposal be approved.
