IT GOES without saying that I am very disappointed with the two results over Easter but at least we showed signs against Hull KR that we are still capable of playing attractive football and there was no shortage of effort.

However, the biggest factor was that when we got into attacking positions we lacked Martin Wood and a fully fit Nathan Antonik.

BOTH Craig Murdock and Chris Robinson are good footballers in their own right but they obviously need time to settle into our style of football and develop an understanding with the players around them.

I FULLY share the desire of supporters for success but until such time as we have a full squad available again we need to be patient and make the best of the circumstances we find ourselves in. Looking at the bigger picture we are still on track to achieve the goals that we set ourselves at the start of the season.

WE ARE in third place with the possibility of going back to second this weekend if results go our way -- and the reserve grade are top of their division. But without the personnel that got us into this position it will always be a struggle to maintain it.

I do not ask for sympathy or make any excuses, but to put things into perspective, we had to postpone an A team fixture in midweek as we only had seven players available for training on Tuesday evening.

SUNDAY'S game presents us with problems that we would not have dreamt of four weeks ago. We need supporters to come down and get behind the team for the full 80 minutes. It was a great effort by our travelling supporters on Monday at Hull and I thank them very much on behalf of the players for their positive response.

SPEAKING of our supporters the collection at Friday's game for the asthma charity, in memory of Dave Clarke, raised £580.57 so well done to everybody concerned.
