Stuart Spruce was today facing Challenge Cup heartbreak as he awaits the results of tests on a damaged shoulder.
The Bulls full back had his arm in a sling yesterday after aggravating an old injury in Saturday's 24-24 draw at Hull and was reported to be "very sore".
The experienced former Great Britain star was seeing a specialist today but concern was running high in the Odsal camp that he will miss Saturday's showpiece final with world club champions St Helens at Twickenham.
Assistant coach Karl Harrison said: "It's a big worry for Stuart. He has to be a major doubt at this stage but we will probably know for definite later today."
If Spruce is ruled out it would leave coach Brian Noble with a major selection headache especially as his usual stand-in, Michael Withers, is a big doubt himself because of a broken hand although his chances of playing are increasing daily.
