Groundsman Dave Bedford has resigned at Bradford City.
Bedford made his decision on Tuesday and will leave the club on May 15 to take over at Woodhall Hills Golf Club.
He will oversee City's final two home matches against Liverpool and Middlesbrough next week as well as the Bulls' Super League clash with Warrington on Wednesday.
It is understood the extra work involved in maintaining the Valley Parade pitch for rugby league as well as football influenced his decision.
Stadium manager Allan Gilliver said: "It has come as a bit of a shock although I'm not totally surprised. But we are sorry to see him go.
"Dave has been here for four years and has done a good job in that time.
"Now the club will be searching for a replacement as soon as possible.
"With the rugby here as well there is a lot of work to do. Dave is here until the end of the football season but we need to find a new groundsman urgently."
City will be relegated from the Premiership tomorrow unless they pull off a third win in a row and beat Everton.
