ANDY THORNTON hammered home five goals at Bay Horse were crowned Division One champions after a fine win over Oddfellows 2000
The Oddfellows defence chipped in with an own goal as Bay Horse secured a 6-0 victory to take the title. New Inn (Windhill) secured runners-up spot after thrashing Woodend Rovers 9-1. Man of the match Wayne Birdsall had an outstanding game and was also named his club's Player of the Year.
Birdsall scored two of Windhill's goals with the others coming from Peter O'Hagan, Brett Hanson, Simon Matthews, Andrew Howland, Stuart Brook and Richard Mann with an own goal tagged on by Rovers just to make sure.
Martin Dobson equalised for JPL Victoria after Baildon New Inn had opened the scoring in an even first half. After the break both teams JPL twice took the lead only for Baildon to keep coming back to share the points in a 3-3 draw. JPL's other goals came from Lee Stringer and Neil Wilkinson.
Boltmakers Arms secured a 2-0 victory over Keighley Juniors in the Premier Division while Silsden romped home with a 12-0 victory over Regent. The Regent side have refused to give up throughout a difficult season and have always fielded a full side, but Silsden were in no mood to extend charity.
Martin McLennon led the onslaught with four goals and Andy Geary followed up with a hat-trick, Michael Rosser scored twice and Jim McCormack got one while two own goals completed the rout.
Victoria Hotel outplayed Victoria 2000 to lead 2-1 at half time. They went on to score two more unanswered goals in the second half with Tony Cooper completing a hat-trick and Pete Bousfield getting the other. Victoria 2000 missed a second half penalty to go down 4-1.
Royal managed to get the better of Sandy Lane in an even contest. The scoreline was level at 1-1 at half time with Joe Lunn scoring for royal. Nick Farwell stole the winner for Royal in the second half.
