Skipton Bulldogs have taken the lead in the Silentnight Premier Division of the Craven & District Football League after their 6-0 win over Grassington United in mid-week, although Cross Hills stay in the hunt with both teams winning their midweek matches last week.
Cross Hills had a 4-1 victory over Addingham FC and followed this up with a 4-0 victory over Colne Cricket Club. Skipton Bulldogs beat Embsay 7-1 and followed up with a 4-0 success against Skipton LMS, so the position remains finely balanced, especially after Oxenhope Recreation underlined that the Dogs are fallible with a 4-2 League Cup success at Sandylands on Saturday.
In Division One, Bronte Wanderers had a 2-1 home victory over Embsay Reserves to maintain their lead at the top and three more points will give them the title. Second-placed Skipton Town faltered in their bid for runners-up spot, losing to fellow challengers Carleton. The teams now meet again in the game that will probably resolve that situation.
In Division Two, the chase is on for the runners-up spot, with Lothersdale in second place. They had a 7-2 victory over Cowling Reserves, whilst the other challengers, Bronte Wanderers, did not have a match. Wanderers need to win their remaining matches to pip 'Dale' by a point.
