A car parts and MoT testing company in Cleckheaton has been refused permission to sell cars because of noise and traffic fears.
Valley Road Car Sales applied to change their company from a paint, body, MoT and parts depot to car sales.
The application was refused at Kirklees Council's Heavy Woollen planning sub-committee meeting.
Councillors said the change would mean driving large vehicles down narrow access roads and would not be compatible in a residential area, due to the noise and activity of vehicles arriving in the early morning and late at night.
