A husband and wife team are planning to bring some calm to the district's offices and waiting rooms through a fishy new venture.
Chris and Sandra Darbey, from Cottingley, have packed in their steady jobs to start up a new firm dedicated to supplying fully stocked aquariums to local businesses. Tranquillity Aquariums aims to introduce its customers to the relaxing side-effects, for both customers and employees, of keeping attractively housed fish on their premises.
The company, run from a converted office extension at the Darbey's home, will supply equipment, food, and cleaning and maintenance services on a rental basis.
Dedicated fish keeper Chris, 40, a former Telewest salesman, said: "We've called it Tranquillity Aquariums because having fish is recognised as a stress-releasing activity, and we genuinely believe that by putting them into more workplaces we'll be providing a benefit."
The company, which opened this Monday, has already had a number of meetings with interested firms and plans to launch a website.
