A Bradford restaurateur is cooking up a medley of fundraising events in support of a mini bus appeal.
Omar Khan, owner of the award-winning Shah Jehan curry house in Little Horton Lane, is urging punters to guess the new name of his restaurant which is due to be revamped.
He is also arranging a culinary extravaganza in the style of BBC2's Ready, Steady, Cook with his chefs teaming up with celebrities and sportsmen and women with disabilities.
"I have lots of ideas and I'm confident that we'll be able to get the appeal off to a good start," said Mr Khan, pictured.
Money raised will go towards a new £25,000 bus which will be used by 35 community groups with members aged from four to 90 from across the district.
The appeal has been set up by Bradford Sport and Recreation Association for People with Disabilities (BSRAPD).
The new bus will replace a seven-year-old model which has become too costly to run. Another three-year-old bus is also used by groups.
Mr Khan said he got involved after going to one of the association's social evenings.
"I was moved to see the members enjoying themselves and I felt I had to do something to help their appeal," he said.
"I was thinking of changing the name of my restaurant anyway after it was redecorated and I thought why not tie it in with the appeal and raise some money at the same time?"
The ground floor of the restaurant is due to be refurbished over the next couple of months and will stay open throughout the work.
A weekend of celebrations and fundraising is planned for the beginning of July.
Pauline Montgomery, chairman of BSRAPD, said: "A new bus is needed to ensure the high level of safety and comfort to our members and affiliated groups.
"We're delighted Mr Khan is supporting our appeal and look forward to the events he's arranging."
She added the buses were vital to ensure people with disabilities, the elderly and other user groups were able to attend social and sporting events.
Guesses aboutt the new name of the Shah Jehan can be sent with the entrant's name, address, and phone numbers to Mr Khan at the Shah Jehan, 30 Little Horton Lane, Bradford, BD5 1AA.
