Fields AFC..........1
Otley Town........1
Another point gained plus fourth game undefeated is the best run Otley have put together this season in the Premier Division of the West Riding County Amateur League.
With Fields scraping for their lives to stay in the division and on a terrible pitch that was unfit to play this was a poor game for the football purists.
Town weathered the early onslaught and soon pressed the home side on the back foot but without creating too much in front of goal.
On 20 minutes Michael Jordan raced down the left with two Fields defenders in tow. Just as he entered the penalty area his quick turn left both defenders on the floor and he slipped the ball into the path of his co striker Damien Lee who smashed the ball into the net to put Town 1-0 up.
This goal didn't lift the tempo of the game and half-time arrived with neither side on top.
Within five minutes of the re-start Fields were level with most of the Otley players stood watching it was an easy tap in for the home striker.
Ben Hawley once again stood out for Otley ever willing to work hard and break up any Fields moves.
Iain Taylor in Town's goal made a couple of good saves and then with ten minutes to go Lee Grice was upended in the Fields' area and a penalty awarded to Otley.
Tom Dixon stepped up but hit his shot high over the bar to leave the scores at 1-1.
The young Otley players must learn from this season and go into every game without the 'relaxed end of season feeling', 'Don't really mind what score it ends up', attitude that lets them down.
