Bulls chairman Chris Caisley has hit out at the stayaway fans after the midweek win over Warrington attracted their lowest Super League crowd for almost two years.

The gate of 9,663 was the worst since 9,525 saw the clash with London Broncos at Odsal in June 1999. Wednesday's night's figure also included a healthy contingent from Warrington.

Caisley said: "If we had been parading the Challenge Cup I suppose we would have doubled that.

"I have no problem with those who did turn up. We were down to the hard core and I thought they were much more vocal than they have been recently.

"But I honestly thing the sporting public of Bradford are missing out. We have some world class talent on show as Henry Paul proved by setting a new record for successive goal kicks.

"We have a couple of away games coming up but I hope the fans really come out in big numbers for the derby match with Halifax later in the month."

Writing in the club programme for the game, Caisley said: "I just hope that the Bradford public recognise how much has actually been achieved at this club over the past six years.

"It's true we have lost four finals to St Helens but, after them, our record is better than that of any other Super League club. How many clubs would love to swap places with the Bulls?

"I am also sick and tired of some of the inane comments that are made by a certain section of our support.

"One of the rumours doing the rounds at the moment is that there is some sort of secret deal to keep the club at Valley Parade and that there is no intention whatsoever of developing Odsal.

"I repeat, for the last time I hope, that we are working as hard as possible to deliver a state-of-the-art facility at Odsal and staying there this season was simply not an option for us."
