A 13-year-old girl had to be treated for an asthma attack after being robbed by a gang of youths.
Vicky Graham, a pupil at Oakbank School, was walking home with a 15-year-old female friend from another friend's house on Tuesday evening when she was confronted by four Asian youths.
The girls had walked from Ingrow to Victoria Road, near Lund Park, at about 8.30pm, when Vicky took out her mobile phone to contact her mum.
One of the youths demanded the phone and when she refused snatched it from her. The gang then spat and swore at Vicky and her friend.
Mum Lynne said: "They threatened to kill her. They said they would knock her off if she didn't get away."
Vicky was so afraid she ran all the way home to Hainworth Wood Road where she suffered an asthma attack.
She had to be treated at Airedale Hospital where she was detained until 1.35am.
Lynne claimed the police told Vicky they were too busy to come out when she called them from a phone box.
"I can't explain what she's feeling now -- I am disgusted at what happened," she adds.
A police spokesman said: "The incident has been reported and officers went to see the family on Wednesday.
"They are investigating it as a robbery and are not at this stage linking it with other incidents."
