A Keighley councillor has accused the police of avoiding Lund Park's problems
In the wake of recent violent incidents Lynne Joyce (Labour Keighley South) called a meeting between Keighley police leader Chief Superintendent Derek Bonnard, councillors, MP Ann Cryer, youth services and community groups.
But Chief Supt Bonnard is not available for a meeting until May 15 -- not soon enough feels Cllr Joyce.
She said: "I think he's trying to avoid the issue. And I will not let this matter drop until something happens.
"It's a partnership thing. We've all got to work together on it.People are saying it's a no-go area.
"Whether it is or not, if there is a perception it's unsafe it's terribly, terribly worrying and we've got to do something about it.
"I want to feel safe -- it's my patch -- and I want everybody to feel safe."
One of Chief Supt Bonnard's staff said he was unavailable until May 15 as there had been difficulties finding a date that suited both Chief Supt Bonnard and Ann Cryer.
Cllr Joyce would like to hear from anyone who has experienced any anti-social behaviour in the Lund Park area.
They should call her on 01274 590451.
