A widow's account of her husband's tragic death and her forgiveness for his killers could be in the bookshops by the end of this month.
Money made by Jo Pollard from Journey to Murder, Road to Forgiveness will benefit worthy causes in eastern Europe.
Mrs Pollard's book - penned with writer DJ Carswell - recalls the events of August 1997 when Michael Pollard, 62, pastor of the Emmanuel Evangelical Church at Baildon Green, died after the couple were attacked by robbers in Hungary while en route to Romania with a camper van full of aid.
Since her husband's death the New Zealand-born devout Christian has maintained her forgiveness for his killers - giving regular talks on the subject to various groups - and has even visited two of them in prison during return visits to Hungary.
The book will also recall the Pollards' regular journeys over a 30-year period when they took consignments of aid to communities in eastern Europe.
Mrs Pollard, 59, a mother-of-three grown-up children, hopes her book will help to give strength to other people.
"It's not easy to forgive but it is worthwhile and I don't have any regrets about it at all," she said. "I hope it may help others to forgive or realise that they can be forgiven for what they've done.''
A spokesman's for the book's publisher, Carlisle-based Paternoster Publishing, said: "It's with our editors at the moment. We're hoping it will be out towards the end of May.''
