Riddlesden saw victory snatched from their grasp by the weather after restricting Adwalton to just 107 off 45 overs.
In an outstanding bowling performance M Bailey took seven for 29 as he destroyed the visitors. He was backed up by excellent bowling from his team mates, but their hard work came to nothing when rain struck at the tea interval and washed out the rest of the game.
Riddlesden 2nds lost the toss and were put in on a very wet wicket at Adwalton.
Runs were hard to score at the start and after losing a wicket without a run on the board a partnership of 62 between Gordon Henson and Tahir Mahmood established what looked like a firm platform, but both batsmen were out without adding further runs. As the wicket dried out and Riddlesden looked for quick runs Adam Khan (81 not out) and Anbdul Majid (61 not out) put on 119 runs. Riddlesden declared on 213-4 with two overs to spare.
With the Adwalton score on 49-1 after 10 overs the heavens opened and the match ended as a draw.
Darren Hopkinson of Oxenhope scored 72 in his side's match with Gt Horton before the match was abandoned.
Crossflatts are re-launching the club after spending the winter carrying out renovation work on their pavilion. They have improved the team room, fitted showers in the changing rooms and the groundsman has been working hard to improve the wicket .
The club has a new shirt sponsor in Malcolm Bright Haulage and is also looking to recruit new players as they launch their league campaign.
