A 13-year-old schoolgirl victim of a street robbery had to wait 17 hours before she was seen by police.
And her mother, 35 year-old Lynn Graham, alleges police failed to record her 999 call reporting her daughter's attack.
Vicky says she was robbed of her mobile telephone and spat on as she walked home with a friend at 8.40pm on Tuesday.
But it was not until 1.40pm the following day that a police officer came to take her statement.
Mrs Graham also claims officers admitted not having a record of the 999 call she made at 9.10pm, only half an hour after the attack in Queen's Road, Keighley.
Mrs Graham, of Hainworth Wood Road, Keighley, said: "Vicky was walking home with a friend when four lads came up to her and snatched her phone. She was phoning to tell me she was on her way home.
"They snatched it off her, spat at her and said disgusting things to her. She was terrified and ran to a phone box and rang 999.
"She was told they were busy and an officer would be there as soon as possible and she should stay there. She's only 13 and anything could have happened while she waited."
Vicky, a pupil at Oakbank School in Keighley, said: "A bit later the phone in the box rang. I picked it up and it was the police. They said I should make my way home and somebody would come and see us."
Mrs Graham added: "Vicky was very upset. When she got here, she could hardly breathe - she's asthmatic. I couldn't make out what she was saying at first."
Mrs Graham telephoned 999 herself and was told an officer would be there in an hour.
When they had not arrived at 10.20pm, she telephoned Keighley police to say she was taking Vicky to hospital because her breathing was still poor. She was told there was no record of her earlier 999 call.
She returned from Airedale General Hospital, Steeton, at 2.10am on Wednesday, telephoned the police again and was told an officer would call at about 10am the next day. A police constable arrived at 1.40pm.
Mrs Graham said: "I don't think it's good enough and I have complained."
A police spokesman said: "We have received a complaint about our response time, which will be investigated, as will the offence of robbery."
