Bradford Bulls coach Brian Noble today called on rugby league's fixture planners to be more sympathetic.

His side will play their eighth game in 34 days on Friday at Leeds Rhinos, and it is too much says the former Great Britain hooker.

"I just want to get back to one game a week - the whole team does," said Noble. "You are in danger of making a mockery of the competition."

He added: "We are paying the price for success, don't get me wrong, and six of our games were in the Challenge Cup.

"We wanted to get through to the final and we wanted to win it, and it is easy for me to sit and whinge about success.

"But we need to find a way for the public as well because it just dilutes the product when you are making teams play so many times a week.

"We want to give someone the chance to play again if they have had a niggle, give them some preparation so they are at the top of their physical and skill prowess.

"That shows at the end of the week for our fans, and surely that is the way we have to go? Fortunately we will have had six days to prepare for our match against Leeds."

It will be the 14th week of the season this weekend for Super League teams and already the Bulls have played two matches in four of those weeks.

Since the start of the competitive season, they will have played 15 matches in 90 days by the time they play at Headingley.
