Castleford 22, Bradford Bulls 24: TV - thats the video referee, not Tevita Vaikona - played a crucial role in Bradford Bulls going back on top of Tetley's Super League after this Saturday night thriller.
Former Sheffield Eagles coach John Kear, summarising for radio, said seconds after the final whistle had blown: "The video referee won that match for Bradford because without TV replays the referee would probably have given Castleford tries to Danny Orr and Darren Rogers."
And how right he was. But Cummings wisely opted for some help from the 'third man', and the big screen clearly showed that half-back Orr had dropped the ball over the line in the 72nd minute and that left winger Rogers' left leg had brushed the whitewash a fraction of a second before he banged the ball over the line four minutes later.
Full back Michael Withers' right arm was responsible for denying Orr, while left winger Vaikona did just enough to stop Rogers, but Tigers coach Stuart Raper was not a happy man afterwards.
"This game really proved the inconsistency in rugby league where you have a video referee one week and you don't the next.
"The touch judge gave the try (to Rogers) and next time the same thing might happen and we could lose a game by not having a video referee.
"It's just unfortunate that the sport doesn't have the finance to have consistency throughout."
Bulls coach Brian Noble, not surprisingly, didn't see the 'try' incidents the same way.
He said: "It did go down to the wire, but his (Rogers') foot was in touch, and those are the rules."
