TWO community campaigns in Pool-in-Wharfedale have suffered blows this week.
The parish council had hoped to get the 747 bus service, which provides a link between Otley and Pool on an evening and Sundays, extended to during the daytime.
But a letter from Metro pointed out that the service was already heavily subsidised and that it would be impossible to extend it
without detracting from other services.
Residents complaining about the siting of a dog bin on the Millcroft estate have lost their campaign to have it moved.
The parish council had hoped to move the bin after health concerns from neighbouring houses, but the recreation ground
management committee, which owns the land, has said there is nothing wrong with its
position. The bin is emptied twice weekly.
