Division C
Pool Mills dismissed their Thackley hosts for a total of 183 which appeared eminently 'gettable.' In truth, the Mills bowlers were not at their best, but returns of 3-48 from Richard Wilkinson and 2-19 from Paul Wilkinson were the pick of the crop. The Mills batsmen were confident that a total of 183 could be passed relatively easily in the 54 available overs. That confidence was misplaced.
At 15-6 Pool Mills were set to enter the record books and hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons. They were grateful to Paul Wilkinson (39) and Graham Parker (30) who gave the innings some sort of respectability. This pair were parted just before drinks when Wilkinson mistimed an on drive and was caught at mid on.
Batting number nine for Pool Mills was Richard Smith, a 15 year-old first team debutant. Thackley immediately applied great pressure in order to rattle his confidence. However, Smith kept his nerve and batted for all the remaining 25 overs, 15 with Graham Parker, eight with Richard Wilkinson and the final two with his dad, Ray as they held on at 120-9. The one point gained turned out to be a bonus given the earlier seemingly hopeless position the Mills had got themselves into.

Third Teams
Southport FC goalkeeper Steve Dickinson quickly turned his hand to his summer sport and hammered 58 to steer Guiseley Thirds to a three wicket win over Colton on Sunday. Colton had made 132-8 and their number six M Galley also scored 58, his knock being undefeated.
Dickinson was well supported by young M Adams who made 32 after the early Guiseley batsmen had gone cheaply. This pair then added 84 for the fourth wicket.
Addingham had G Ward to thank for a mid-order knock of 43 which took them to 101-8 and this proved too many for Calverley who fell for 93. Doing the damage were J Hall with 4-20 and G Walker with 3-17.
It was a poor weekend for Ilkley. On Saturday Alwoodley made 158-8 with 60 from A Trunks. Ilkley replied with 96-6 thanks to 30 from young opener Andrew Rhodes.
On Monday North Leeds ammassed 191-4 with a superb 92 from opener R Jackson. Ilkley then fell for 71 as G Wilcox took 5-16.
Burley made a fine 202-9 thanks to a steady start from openers Jeff Colclough (55) and Peter Sumner (25). Green Lane never looked like getting the runs but on the other hand Burley for a long time did not look as if they would take ten wickets either. That was until the two young leg spinners Caddick and former Lane player Paterson weaved their magic to bag five wickets between them.
