A former deputy mayoress of Keighley, Frances Little, died on Sunday following a fall. She was 79.
Her late husband Dick Little, a Labour councillor, was deputy mayor in 1960/61. He died in 1994.
Frances was born at Ingrow and lived in Fell Crescent, Keighley, until October 1999 when - owing to failing health - she went to live with her daughter Jennifer and her son-in-law in Longton, Preston.
In her younger years Frances worked at Hattersley's Mill, where she met her future husband.
The couple married at St John's Church, Ingrow.
Prior to her retirement in 1979, she worked in the despatch department at NSF in Keighley.
She served for a while as a voluntary worker with the Family Planning Association, and in her retirement pursued her artistic interests through membership of Sutton Art Club and the Keighley and District Disabled People's Centre Art Group.
Frances is survived by her daughter Jennifer and two grandchildren, Joanne and Christopher. Another daughter, Barbara, died in a traffic accident in 1966.
