An initiative to encourage locally produced food in Kirklees and Calderdale finishes next Thursday.
The Mayor of Kirklees, Councillor Ann Denham, will be a guest of honour at a farewell party for the Food Futures project at Oakwell Hall in Birstall.
Food Futures is run by the Soil Association along with the National Farmers Union, local councils, health authorities and community groups.
Over the last 18 months it has been trying to bring farmers and food producers closer together with suppliers and community organisations through a series of workshops.
Its aim is to highlight the need to grow food supplies locally to assure the consumer of its quality and accountability, especially in light of the recent foot and mouth crisis.
Coun Denham will launch a Four Gardens For All project at Oakwell Hall.
