The words 'Howdy, partner' took on a whole new meaning for a besotted pair of Wild West fans - they were becoming stetson-wearing, gun-toting partners for life.

Lynne Sayles and Brian Hardwick, from Wibsey, are Wild West fans and decided that they would have to marry in the full regalia. Delighted Lynne said: "It's the happiest day of my life and I'm so glad I am enjoying it in this outfit."

Though Brian, 50, was dressed in a stetson and full sheriff outfit, Lynne's ivory silk wedding gown looked a little more sedate - except when she hitched up her flowing gown to reveal a pair of cowboys boots. But luckily, they were cream silk too.

Lynne was a member of the Railway Club in Bradford for three years but Brian claims to have spent all his 50 years in it. The auto electrician said there was no way they would have contemplated a 'normal' wedding. "You could say it was my dream to have a wild west wedding.

"We didn't actually meet through the Railway Club. It was Angie, my daughter, who was friends with Lynne's daughter, Victoria, and one day we were picking them up at the same time and bumped into each other. And that was it."

Guests, who had also turned up in various Wild West outfits, said themed weddings were becoming extremely popular. Apache Alan, 42, said: "Don't they look fantastic? The Wild West is inspiring because it conjures up images of a pioneering group of people."

Also throwing admiring glances were Fred and Josie Jones who enjoyed a Wild West wedding last year. "You just feel extra glamorous, it makes a special day more special," said Mrs Jones, who met her husband while line-dancing.

Lynne and Brian will spend a week on a distinctly un-Western honeymoon - in North Yorkshire.
