A horrified witness told today how he found the blood-soaked body of a stabbing victim.
A murder investigation has been launched after the man's body was discovered by neighbours in his flat yesterday.
The victim's girlfriend ran screaming into the street after the 37-year-old Manningham man had been stabbed to death in his Woodview Terrace flat.
And as he lay bleeding on the floor an elderly neighbour who tried to help him died after suffering a suspected heart attack.
Asad Bahadur, 30, of Woodview, Manningham, said he discovered the victim's body lying in the flat at 2.30pm yesterday.
Mr Bahadur, who was the victim's landlord, said: "I just heard screaming outside in the street. It was his girlfriend in the street screaming that her boyfriend had been stabbed.
"I ran over to the flat and I found him lying on the floor. There was blood everywhere - on the floor, the walls and the door. It looked like he had been struggling around trying to get out before he collapsed.
"It was absolutely horrendous, I've never seen anything like it. It was just an appalling sight. You never expect to see it on your own doorstep. I wasn't able to sleep at all last night."
Mr Bahadur, pictured, said that another of his tenants, a 60-year-old man who lived in the flat upstairs from the victim, was already on the scene trying to help when he arrived.
He said: "The other man had already called an ambulance. But then he collapsed holding his chest and started turning blue.
"I think he was having a heart attack. I just couldn't believe it. It was a nightmare.
"When the ambulance arrived I think the stabbing victim was already dead and they took the heart attack man to hospital."
Officers were today conducting house to house inquiries in the area while forensic experts examined the scene.
A police spokesman confirmed the incident occurred at 2.30pm yesterday at a house in Woodview Terrace, Manningham.
He added: "A 37-year-old man was found suffering from multiple stab wounds to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene."
The spokesman added that a 60-year-old man was also taken to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
This 60-year-old's death is not being treated as suspicious and the spokesman said it is thought he died from natural causes.
A murder investigation has been launched in relation to the 37-year-old man. A post-mortem revealed he died of loss of blood due to multiple stab injuries.
Neither man has yet been formally identified.
A post-mortem into the 60-year-old's death was set to be carried out later today.
* A 30-year-old man has been arrested and is due to be questioned at Bradford Central Police station in connection with the death of another man in Bradford.
