A green-fingered interior design specialist has joined an elite band of UK firms by being awarded British Franchise Association (BFA) status.
Bradford's Urban Planters has joined the likes of McDonald's, The Body Shop, Clarks Shoes and Signs Express in gaining full BFA membership.
The business, which uses exotic plants to create a more ambient look in workplaces around the country, has received the accolade because of the success of its national network of franchises.
Just 86 other British firms have met the stringent criteria for full BFA membership, which includes proving franchisee success over a four-year period.
Based in Clayton, Urban Planters launched its first franchise five years ago and now has 16 'mini-businesses' working under its wing. The company already holds the prestigious ISO 9002 and Investors in People quality standards.
Franchise director Nick Gresty said: "Full membership of the BFA is yet another accolade to our quality.
"We are proud and pleased that the exceptional efforts of our franchise team and franchisees have been recognised."
Urban Planters supplies and looks after indoor plants in offices, hotels and shopping centres, and has a group turnover approaching £3 million.
Deputy director general of the BFA, Simon Wise, said: "We are delighted to welcome Urban Planters on board as full members, proving that they are an established and ethical franchise."
With five new franchisees appointed in 2000, the company now has a presence in 16 areas, and is aiming to eventually have a 40-strong business network.
