A SUPERB innings of 80 by Guiseley's Chris Thompson led the Airedale and Wharfedale League to a two wickets win over the Huddersfield JCA in the Joe Lumb Competition.
Huddersfield made 173-8 with Otley's James Davies producing the best bowling return with 5-35 off eight overs. Chris Wain bowled a marathon 19 over stint taking 0-62 while Mark McEneaney had 1-27 off 11 overs.
Thompson opened the Airedale and Wharfedale innings with Davies but the Otley player went for 14. Thompson dominated the early stages and had made his 80 out of the 115 on the board when he was caught by Noble off Shaw. His innings had included 3 sixes and 10 fours. None of his colleagues were in such striking form but victory was reached with 76.1 overs to spare.
