On Sunday Hanging Heaton notched 142-9 as they struggled to dominate some tidy Yeadon bowling with spinners Naeem Khan and Grant Soames bearing the brunt of the workload.
Khan took 4-61 off 23 overs while the youngster Soames had 4-50 off 21 overs. Former Yeadon opener Steve Bartle was sent back for 22 being stumped by Paul Hebden off Soames.
Yeadon had a poor start in reply losing both Munawar and Gormley cheaply but Iain Philliskirk (35) and Habeeb Ullah (41) stuck to their guns and took the score to 50-3 before they were parted.
Simon Purdy (4-56) and Oldham (3-51) then gradually turned the screw and Yeadon were forced into errors with three batsmen run out in a quest for quick runs. In the end they finished ten runs short but it was a valiant effort.
