WADDILOVE cup holders Burley easily negotiated their first round hurdle in defence of the trophy. They wiped out Skipton's 107 in 25 overs with a half-century from David Brook.
Richard Harrison and Nick Brook had each claimed 3-21 returns as Skipton were dismissed. But for 38 by D Whiteley their total would have looked very sad indeed.
Brook had support from Chris Wheeler (20) and Richard Fleming (21 no) as victory was gained.
Last year's beaten finalists Guiseley had an overwhelming win over Division C side Pool Mills. Guiseley rattled up 297-5 with a superb knock of 96 from Barry McCormick. He shared a first wicket stand of 139 with Mark Ross (47) and a third wicket stand of 113 with Glen Taylor (34).
Taylor and Ian Chaplin (65) then added 91 runs for the fourth wicket as the Mills bowlers toiled. They were hit by an injury to opening bowler Jamie Wilkinson which meant that he only bowled two overs and was unable to bat.
Bernard Thornton played the anchor role in the early stages of the Mills' innings but fell for 35 and despite a valiant 38 from number eight P Wilkinson Mills fell for 161.
Ilkley gained a five wickets win over Horsforth who made 204-6 thanks to some good mid-order batting from M Bates (41) and S Collins (40). Chris Henry claimed 3-37 and then hit 27 in a useful all round performance. Phil Sant (45) and Paul Moffat (59 no) were however the mainstays of the win.
Adel gained a 105 runs win over Harden after totalling 233-8 with opener Ian Jones making 64. Mike Dallaston (38) and Chris Keady (35) made useful contributions. Harden had no real answer to the bowling of Dallaston (3-11 off eight overs), Nick Smith (2-20) and S Howie (2-22).
Pool's bowlers struggled against Bilton who hammered a superb 243-7 with Australian Darren Wotherspoon opening with 80 and P Canning with 87. Pool lost early wickets in reply but then David Murphy with 43 and Naveed Arif with 48 not out gave them some respectability as they closed on 148-4.
Steeton made a valiant attempt to reach the Calverley score of 240-6 reaching 222 all out. This was thanks in the main to a knock of 81 from Australian opener Grant Lindsay. His side were however undone by South African Daniel Theron who took 5-34.
Calverley had made a good start to their innings with a stand of 77 between S Alred (72) and Gareth Lee
Silsden fell for 134 in reply to a more than useful Alwoodley score of 241-6. Silsden bowled 43 extras up. Alwoodley openers R Mitchell (54) and I Taylor (47) gave their side a solid start with a stand of 104. Mitchell completed a good all-round performance with a return of 4-16.
Tong Park fell for 123 in reply to the North Leeds total of 226-9 of which opener Rob Winter made 57. Steve Wales then grabbed 5-32 to clinch victory.
A superb innings of 99 from Kenrick Marshall - the West Indian's second score in the 90s in successive days, helped Rawdon to a magnificent 315-4 - Bruce Percy also batting superbly for 82.
Kirkstall replied with 179-8 with a half-century from S Bashir and 41 from opener Dave Wonfor.
Menston made an excellent 264 but home side Woodhouse romped to victory off the last ball with two wickets in hand. Leading the run charge were S Dobson with 88 and opener S Golson with 70. For Menston David Lester had hammered a magnificent 140 and shared a second wicket stand of 177 with Nick Thornton (69).
Despite a valiant effort by Ben Rhydding they fell 105 runs short of the Beckwithshaw total of 296-4. Darren Wyrill hit 75, Paul Whitehead 54 and Paul Thompson 55 no as Shaw piled up the runs. Tony Todd made 68 and saw some support from Charlie Jones (36) and Bill Chary (37) as Ben Rhydding fought back.
Follifoot gained a 128 runs win over visitors Bolton Villas making 232-8 thanks in the main to C Newton (68) and Brian Smart (40).
Villas fell for 104 as one time Yorkshire aspirants Ian Houseman (3-24) and Matthew Yates (3-14) grabbed the wickets.
Collingham opener Tim Kilby steered his side to an eight wickets win over Colton who fell for 113 as S Booth took 4-20. Kilby needed little assistance as his side coasted home.
