Benito Carbone today announced that he will not be pushing for a move out of Bradford City.
The Italian ace has been linked with Midd-lesbrough, who almost signed him on deadline day, and Glasgow Ran-gers. Serie A clubs are also watching his pro-gress.
Most fans can't imagine Carbone lining up in the First Division and expect tomorrow's final game at Coventry to be his last in a claret and amber shirt.
But according to Car-bone, no summer deal is cut and dried.
He told the Telegraph & Argus: "I'm still a Brad-ford City player with three years on my contract and, although you never know what's going to happen in football, my first thought is to stay.
"I am going back to Italy on Sunday and after six weeks' holiday I will come back here on July 11 to start training unless something chan-ges.
"We don't know what is going to happen in the summer and somebody may come in and ask for me. But I'm not looking to do anything to make myself go.
"I would like to continue to live in Leeds because my family have settled down. They are very happy and my kids speak English - they are teaching me and when I get it wrong they always tell me!"
Carbone, the star turn at last night's official launch of the new away kit, admitted he felt as low as the fans about City's demise.
"It hurts me that Bradford have gone down and it will be a black mark on my career that I will remember for the rest of my professional life.
"Relegation is not a nice feeling and I'm very sorry because there are good players here. It will be our present to the fans to get us back up again."
