Bradford is set to boogie back in time when some of the biggest names in music descend on the city for Top Of The Pops.
The Telegraph & Argus can exclusively reveal that 80s icons Ultravox, ABC, Soft Cell and reggae star Eddy Grant are all lined up to appear in the special Top of the Pops Reunion show which will be broadcast live from Pennington's nightclub on Sunday, May 27, as part of the BBC Music Live Festival.
And in a major musical coup the show will also feature stylish 80s outfit Roxy Music, starring Bryan Ferry, in their first live performance together in 18 years.
The group's Pennington's performance will be the first time fans will be able to see the reformed band ahead of a major world arena tour starting in June.
The band are expected to perform their tribute to John Lennon, Jealous Guy, on the show.
And top TV host Jamie Theakston, who will be presenting the 1981 themed show, is appealing for the Bradford public to start rummaging through its dressing-up boxes to make it a 1981 night to remember.
Jamie, who is planing to dress up as new romantic heart-throb Adam Ant said: "I can't wait to get to Bradford, it's going to be 80s-tastic!
"I'm going for the full Adam Ant look. The pirate hat, the white stripe across the nose, the frilly shirt and everything. He was a bit of a hero of mine so I'm really looking forward to it. This was really the era when I started to become aware of music.
"I'm certainly going to be digging out some old vinyl before the show.
"I can't wait to see bands like ABC, Soft Cell and Ultravox. Vienna was one of the first records I remember as a youngster, it's going to be great."
Jamie, who hosts The Priory show with Zoe Ball, has appealed to Bradford's music lovers to help him rock back the clock by dressing up as their favourite New Romantic stars.
He said: "I want to put out a personal appeal to everyone who's going to the show to dress in the 1980s style. For the younger ones that means rummaging through mum and dad's wardrobe and the older ones that means digging out all those fantastic frilly shirts, sashes and headbands and putting on the eyeliner."
Top Of The Pops producer Jeff Simpson, said: "There are going to be some classic bands there for Top Of The Pops Reunion and it should be a great event for Music Live in Bradford."
As well as the golden oldies new chart stars Atomic Kitten and Spooks will be performing their favourite hits from 1981.
Atomic Kitten, currently riding high in the charts with their single Whole Again, will perform Kim Wilde's Kids in America while Spooks will perform the Police's number one Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic.
Club owner John Pennington, said: "It's fantastic news for Bradford and for the club. It will really put us on the map. The tickets are like gold-dust, we've been inundated with requests for tickets.
"We've already had other TV companies ringing us up asking about filming here.
"It's brilliant that we've got acts like Roxy Music and Ultravox. I don't know if I'll be dressing up, I might just go as I am because a lot of people say I looked quite 80s anyway!"
