Bradford Bulls 64,Halifax Blue Sox 12 - Just when you thought the Bulls had peaked with their first half performance at Headingley along comes another one to better it.

The Blue Sox aren't the strongest side around it has to be said.

And they were hardly helped by more players pulling out on the day with injuries and others including former Cougars winger Jason Lee arriving direct from a day's work.

But you could only stand back and admire the skills and power on show as the Bulls continue to set a cracking pace at the summit of Super League.

In the opening 40 minutes they were simply stunning with a-point-a-minute show which even raised hopes of challenging that 96-point drubbing of Salford last season.

But after their recent schedule that was asking a little too much even by their own standards and almost inevitably there was some easing up on the throttle in the second period.

The Blue Sox must have been grateful for that too although they deserve credit for the way they introduced a element of derby spirit when all was lost.

There was no real sign of what was to follow as Steve Linnane's men opened promisingly to cut down the Bulls options and create some promising moments on attack themselves.

But once Leon Pryce had scrambled over on his hands and knees following Joe Vagana's long pass they settled into a style of play which should soon be filling the new Valley Parade main stand to the rafters.

Pryce's second certainly deserved a full house and quickly produced a rival to Mick Withers cracker at Headingley last week for the try of the season.

Withers actually started the move this time with a great take from Gavin Clinch's bomb and he spotted the counter-attack possibilities immediately to give Scott Naylor and Tevita Vaikona the chance to release Pryce in some style near half-way and he exploded down the touchline to produce the quality finish the move deserved.

The 19-year-old went on to complete his hat-trick in the closing minute with the Bulls eleventh and final try and underline just why the club are so keen to hang on to him.

But he wasn't the only star by any means with all the back-line producing moments to remember as the Bulls fell just four points short of their Challenge Cup fifth round haul at The Shay in February.

Fellow winger Vaikona was simply everywhere again and is benefitting as much as anyone now that his excellent handling skills are being encouraged.

Centres Scott Naylor enjoyed his return from a two-match absence with some telling contributions too, notably a rampaging finish to another spell-binding phase of play involving Vagana, Vaikona and Henry Paul.

Lee Gilmour notched a second half try too and is developing a handy partnership with Pryce which on current form will take some breaking up even with Shane Rigon and Graham Mackay available again next week.

The Paul brothers were in dominant mood too with Robbie recovering quickly from the disappointment of having a seemingly good try disallowed to make no mistake from close range in the very next raid. Henry was all class too and goalkicking comparisons with former Wigan teammate and fellow hot-shot Frano Botica are richly deserved after several more touchline efforts.

Up front "Mr Perpetual Motion," Mike Forshaw, continues to lead the way and he's not exactly short of support these days with every forward to a man capable of handling the ball with supreme confidence.

Much better sides that Halifax are going to struggle to contain them. Giant prop Paul Anderson is pictured as he rampages through the Halifax defence
