The chairman of the Bingley Town Centre Partnership has resigned after closing his motorbike clothing business.
Andrew Robertshaw told members of the group he was stepping down as leader because he had a new job which meant he could no longer continue to represent trader's interests.
Mr Robertshaw, 43, has shut Outer Limits in Main Street and taken up a sales and development role with Richmond-based AB Sportswear which manufactures motorcycle gear.
Vice-chairman Eileen Sinclair, who is chairman of Bingley Voluntary Action Group, takes over as chairman of the partnership which is an umbrella group working to reflect the interests of people in the town.
Mr Robertshaw, who came to the town two years ago, said trade had become too seasonal and when the offer came up, he decided to move.
"You cannot run a business for 11 years and not feel a wrench when you decide to move on," he said.
