IN Division B of the Airedale and Wharfedale League Green Lane gained a comprehensive six wickets win over Hall Park after Tony Pickersgill and Garfield Williams had each picked up five wickets,
Park fell for 132 as Williams returned 5-30 off 13.1 overs and Pickersgill 5-41 off 18 overs.
Lane made a good start in reply through opener Simon Curry who made an unbeaten 43 and there was a solid knock of 38 from D Sparvill.
There was a tense finish at Burley where Silsden gave away late wickets in their bid to secure a couple of points in a drawn match. Aussie Richard Fleming picked up a 'five for' and the fielding of the Burley side was significantly better than Silsden's.
Young Simon Tweddle had shown maturity in Burley's middle order and he held the innings together with a knock of 41 not out, sharing a sixth wicket stand of 55 with Richard Brook (29).
Earlier Lee Saddique, hero of the side's Waddilove Cup win last season, made a fine 59.
Tong Park just failed to reach the modest Otley total of 108-9 finishing on 106-9 as spinners Robert Atkinson (4-48 off 25 overs) and Andrew Mitchell (3-46 off 19 overs) held them in check.
Otley had struggled throughout against the bowling of Ian Jackson who claimed 4-31 off 19 miserly overs. Only Matthew O'Grady with 38 and opener Dave Taylor with 21 showed any real application.
Ilkley picked up six useful points from a three wickets win over Kirkstall Educational after the home side had been dismissed for 118.
Doing the damage were Nick Cockcroft (4-51) and Darren Jayes (3-39). Ilkley lost early wickets in reply but then Craig Rackham (25), Phil Sant (22) and Nick Cockcroft (19) saw them to victory.
Alwoodley gained a narrow one wicket win over Illingworth who were restricted to 149-8 by the bowling of Lambert (4-76 off 25 overs) and Mitchell (2-49 off 17 overs).
Alwoodley lost cheap wickets but a good knock of 47 from opener Taylor kept them in the hunt and when Lambert came in to complete a good all-round performance with a knock of 35 they were on their way to victory. This was completed by an unbeaten seven from number ten Gillow who had also bowled well picking up 1-16 off eight overs.
Calverley ammassed 223-8 with openber Gareth Lee showing his best form with a superb innings of 91. He was well supported by fellow opener S Alred with 42.
With S Golati in good form making 75 Woodhouse made a brave attempt but finished on 179-5 to draw. There was also a half-century from S Dobson.
