Masters champion
Lee Clayton, a member of Marriott Hollins Hall Hotel and Country Club near Baildon, fired a seven under par nett round of 65 to clinch a place alongside a European Tour professional in the Compass Group English Open Pro-Am on Wednesday, June 6, at Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club, Warwickshire.
The 13 handicapper was just four over par at the 15th hole and his win was even more impressive since he has played only three times in the last six months due to prolapsed discs.
His target is to achieve a single figure handicap and this performance has already reduced his handicap by two shots to 11.
Lee said: "I haven't been able to play much this past few months but I just went out to enjoy the round and it all came together for me. I can't wait to play in the Compass Group English Open Pro Am and I think it is a great opportunity for amateur golfers to play with a top class professional."
