Police today arrested a 19-year-old man in connection with an attack on a nurse hit in the face by a brick during the Lidget Green disturbances.
Julie Cook, 39, had to undergo extensive surgery to rebuild her fractured face and to save the sight in her right eye after the missile was thrown through the window of her car during the Easter Sunday trouble.
Mrs Cook lives in Derbyshire and had driven to Bradford to visit relatives. She strayed into the Lidget Green area after becoming lost as she drove home.
The disturbances saw cars set ablaze, several businesses attacked and people injured after a night of confrontations between youths in the city. It brought pleas for calm from community leaders.
A total of 25 people have now been arrested in connection with the clashes.
Police today arrested five people in connection with the disturbances. One person from Odsal, two from Horton Grange and a fourth from Girlington were today being questioned at Toller Lane Police Station.
Meanwhile, detectives moved to shut down a website allegedly carrying racist material in connection with Lidget Green.
Officers were tipped off about its content by a member of the public.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said the site had invited comments on the Lidget Green troubles and published racist material left by visitors. No one has been charged although the site's author was warned about publishing racist material.
The website investigation was led by Detective Superintendent Phil Sedgwick, also responsible for inquiries into the Lidget Green disturbances.
He said: "The author of the site was traced and warned about publishing material of a racist nature."
lA 38-year-old Bradford man has been charged with violent disorder and a 20-year-old Bradford man has been charged with violent disorder and the possession of an offensive weapon. They will appear at Bradford Magistrates' Court tomorrow.
