The Calderdale office of the new region-wide Business Link is up-and-running in Halifax.

The Business Link for West Yorkshire local base is run by a team of advisers aiming to help small to medium enterprises with everything from training requirements to drawing up expansion plans.

The team is also providing an Information Service to help pre-start and new businesses.

Another group of specialists is available specifically to help firms with less than ten employees.

Head of Business Services, Dawn Whiteley, said: "The staff at the Calderdale district office have considerable experience in developing businesses from start-ups, and also in providing training and advice to help companies to grow and expand their activities.

"We would hope to work in close partnership with local companies, both new and existing, to promote prosperity in the area."
