An appeal against a decision by Calderdale Council to prohibit signs to be put on a listed building in Brighouse, has been dismissed by a planning inspector.
Mr Bevilacqua applied to hang two advertising signs on the wall of Perseverance Mill in Huddersfield Road, which is now the Waterfront Hotel and Prego Restaurant.
Permission was refused and an inspector was appointed to make a decision on the case.
Inspector Roger Brown concluded the appeal proposal would be harmful to the character and appearance of the listed building and the appearance and amenity of the area.
He said a vertical hanging sign on the front of the building could be a compromise.
