Yorkshire fish and chips will be on the menu when a party of Nepalese students visit Bradford as part of an exchange visit.
A group of eight pupils aged between nine and 16 and two staff from Yangrima School will fly into the UK on June 15 to be met by Buttershaw School pupils.
In October 2000, after raising £15,000 the previous year, a party of students and staff from Buttershaw flew to Nepal to spend three weeks with their new friends at the school in the Shermatang Valley, high in the Himalayas.
The Yangrima party will spend more than a week in Bradford and will stay with Buttershaw staff and students. They will join in with lessons as well as sampling local delights. According to the school a particular request by the Nepalese students has been for fish and chips.
Buttershaw head teacher, John Midgely, said: "We are really looking forward to meeting the group from Yangrima School and to giving them a memorable and enjoyable experience of life in a totally different culture."
RE teacher Kez Robson, who led the trip to Nepal, said: "Our students found the visit a truly life-changing experience and we are all looking forward to the arrival of the Yangrima students.''
