Organisers of the annual Bantams' knees-up reckon it is jinxed. For the second time, the band booked to provide entertainment has split up ahead of the day.
But City fans will be putting on a brave face at their "Good Riddance to the Premier League" party tomorrow. The free event is at the Goldsborough, Bolton Road, Bradford, from 2pm to 6pm.
Last year's event was marred by the break-up of Halifax band Daydream, while this year reformed Bradford punks The Negatives had been lined up to play their hit single We Are City.
David Pendleton, editor of the City Gent fanzine, said: "Sadly, just two weeks before their return to the Bradford live music scene, the band have split."
But he said that City's dance troupe, the Bantam Belles, were still coming. And drummer Tino Palmer had promised to make an appearance and would be selling copies of We Are City.
The afternoon will also feature a prize quiz, a chance to meet players from City's run to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup in 1976, and rare footage to be shown on the pub's big screen.
