A group of sixth form students have been awarded £500 to help educate younger pupils about the issues of drugs, HIV and sexual health.
The students from Oakbank School in Keighley were awarded the cash by Barclays new Futures.
The scheme's Fast Track Student Award is designed to give sixth form students the chance to undertake a community project quickly and effectively. All they have to do is come up with a creative idea for tackling an issue.
Students from Oakbank will use their award to deliver a peer-education training programme for younger pupils. Professional training will be given to enable the students to run sessions with lower school pupils and community groups.
Sixth former Sophie Scarbor-ough said: "This project will allow young people to make informed choices for themselves by making them more aware of the risks."
Any other Year 12 or 13 students who would like to win a Barclays New Futures Fast Track Student Award can pick up an entry form at www.barclaysnewfutures.co.uk. the next deadline for applications is June 15.
