Animals at four more farms in the Settle area have been found to have foot and mouth disease.
Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food vets identified the disease in cattle at Nelson Farm, Carlton, in Airton. The second case was at Lodge Farm in Settle, where sheep were found to have symptoms of the disease.
Cattle at Kelber Hill Farm in Gargrave and Kirk Syke Farm in Airton were also confirmed as having the disease.
Animals at all four premises were slaughtered. The total number of cases in the Settle area - including cases in the Paythorne and Newsholme area of Lancashire - now stands at 25.
Meanwhile, MAFF vets have apologised after an army slaughter team culled 468 animals by mistake despite a farmer's protests.
The soldiers were sent to cull animals kept on land next to a farm infected with foot-and-mouth in Otterburn, near Settle.
But after killing the 280 condemned animals in an outlying field the team then went on to the non-infected home farm site and slaughtered another 468 sheep and cattle "in error", a spokeswoman for MAFF said.
