The fate of several ancient dilapidated cottages in Idle, Bradford, rests on a local enquiry which is being held on June 10. Bradford Metro Council has applied for listed building consent to demolish 28-36 Well Fold, 42-46 High Street, and 4-7 Garth Fold in High Street, Idle. The enquiry into the application will be heard at City Hall.

A Lidget Green ice-cream manufacturer and vendor was fined five shillings at Bradford City Court today for using a " noisy instrument" while selling ice-cream in Dawnay Road. The "noisy instrument" was a bell, and in using one the man had broken a 100-year-old bye law. He said "The last time I was cautioned I used my voice, but the drop in my sales was tremendous, because my voice was not loud enough to penetrate into the back rooms".
