Masked students marched through Bradford to protest against the regime in Iran. The Iranian students wore hoods to protect their identities because they feared reprisals if they became known. Bradford University Students' Union backed the demonstration and members of the Bradford Communist Party swelled the ranks.

A Bradford firm, Albert Gill (Bfd) Ltd, Bottomley Street, Manchester Road, will show its fashionable rainwear to world buyers at the London Fashion Fortnight which begins today. It is the only Bradford firm invited to the display, which has brought a record figure of 375 of the world's exclusive fashion shops and department stores to London.
