A derelict garage has been left littered with rubbish after travellers finally abandoned the site.
Caravans and trucks appeared on the forecourt of what was Berwicks Garage in Canal Road a month ago.
But a court order was obtained by the site's owners Innes England to clear the site and bailiffs were contacted to remove the unwanted guests.
By 8.15pm yesterday a dark blue Ford Transit van was the only vehicle on the site. It soon drove away leaving the site littered with rolls of foam, empty gas cylinders and a three-piece suite.
Furious residents living nearby, who have been approached by the travellers selling carpets, demanded action be taken immediately to clean up the mess, calling it a health hazard.
A spokesman for Innes England said the travellers had been moved on after the court order was executed.
She said: "They were not causing a problem but they have been there for about a month and it is our site so we wanted it vacated. We will have a clean-up operation to bring the site up to how it was. That will take place next week."
Richard Wixey, environment and waste management director at Bradford Council, said officers would be keeping a close eye on the site to make sure it was cleaned up.
He said: "We monitor all travellers' encampments because we are aware they have the potential to cause environmental difficulties. There can be dumping and other deposits left so we will go down there and check the condition and that the owners are taking action to restore the site to a fit condition. We have spoken to the owners and we will be making sure they keep their end of the arrangements in place.
