Conservative leader William Hague was visiting Bradford this afternoon to outline his promises for the election.
The Leader of the Opposition was due to visit the city today less than a week before the country goes to the polls.
He will spend time talking to people in the district about what he believes a Conservative government can offer them and how it will deal with problems in Bradford. Crime will be one of the main topics he will address and before his visit Mr Hague told the Telegraph & Argus: "A Conservative government will go to war on crime in Bradford."
He will also address the issues of policing and releasing criminals from prison early.
Mr Hague was expected to talk about education in Bradford with residents and promised higher standards in schools if the Conservatives won the election.
Other issues he will talk about during his visit are expected to include the health service, fuel prices and whether or not Britain should adopt the euro.
