RICHARD GODDEN showed league leaders Cowling no respect when they travelled to Haworth.

Godden led the Bronte side's batting attack with 51 not out as they set a target of 174-9 and followed by taking six for 52 as Cowling were shot out for 79.

Oakworth took over at the top of the table after beating Carleton at Cure Hill. The Ramper Park side were under the cosh from the start and collapsed to 14-7 before Oaks gave their young bowlers a chance. Neville Allan scored 36 as he pushed the total to 87. Sixteen-year-old Luca Morreti finished with 3-36.

Robert Hopkinson scored 55 as Oakworth romped to a nine-wicket win.

Foulridge moved up into second place following a 60-run victory at Skipton CI. Mohammed Nawaz scored 124 not out , and was the only player to reach double figures as the Noyna side posted a total of 182-9. Nick Williamson bowled throughout the innings finishing with five for 76.

Tom Stephenson took 7-48 to have the Sandylands side back in the pavilion for 122 despite the efforts of Jon Sharpe (41) and Williamson (42). Nawaz also took 3-26.

There was a real roller-coaster game at Embsay where Pendle Forest saw they innings collapse to 26-5. They recovered to 76-7 before a fine partnership between Philip Swarbrick (47) and Craig Vickery (37) helped them to 144. Stephen Speak took 5-48 in 17 overs.

In reply Embsay found themselves in even deeper trouble as they collapsed to 29-6 which became 62-8. Forest were ready to collect the points when Nasir Hussain joined Speak and clattered a quick 37 to take the total to 113 and Embsay's last pair saw their side to an improbable victory with five balls to spare. Speak finished the game with a flourish, hitting a massive six to take his score to 38 not out.

Last year's champions, Thronton-in-Craven were in fine form at Long Lee. After seeign the home side power their way to 198-5 they roared back to win by seven wickets. Paul Wilkinson made 97 not out for the home side while David Holt (79no), Neil Paxton (48no) and Kevin Pollard (47) were on form for Thornton.

Haworth West End fancied their chances after posting a total of 188-5 at home to Barrowford with Lee Bilbrough scoring a magnificent 129. However the Red Rose side had other ideas and secured a two-wicket win with David Hartley leading the way on 49 not out.

Cullingworth head the Second Division on run rate from Airedale after securing a four wicket win at Jimmy Nelson's.

Airedale travelled to Denholme and saw the home side make 167-7. Airedale reached a winning total, also for the loss of seven wickets.

Chatburn are third after travelling to Ingrow where they secured victory by 70 runs. Richard Shovelton with 96 helped the Ribblesdale side to 233-8. The Keighley side made 163 in reply.

Gargrave's Martin Cox scored his second century of the season, with a knock of 113 at Keighley Tech's Rose Cottage ground. Gargrave raced to 260-5 and the College side were dismissed for 140 with Stan Adams making 65 as Ernie Moorhouse took 7-34.

Cononley put last year's troubles behind them as they crushed visitors Glusburn. They scored 140-8 with James Calvert (61) as Craig Watts claimed 4-58. Glusburn were dismissed for 25 with Andrew Town picking up 6-10 and Matthew Town 4-15.

Ingrow St John's were the first team left without a game after the withdrawal of Barnoldswick III.

Oakworth are leaders of the Third Division and had few problems at Chatburn. The home team posted a modest 128-8 with Graham Rankin taking 5-55 as S Edmundson scored 33. Rankin made 54no to go with David Brunskill's 52no as the target was reached for the loss of four wickets. Cowling are second after demolishing visitors Long Lee. Nick Ridding (7-19) and Neil Robson (3-10) had the Keighley side back in the pavilion for just 31. The home side lost two wickets reaching victory.

Bradley are third after seeing off Sutton by seven wickets. Sutton reached 129-9 with Richard Kidd scoring 53 as Ashley Walmsley took 6-31. James Simpson scored 63 for the winners.

Thornton are fourth after winning a high scoring game against Skipton CI at Ermysted's. The Booth Bridge side rattled up a massive 267-2 with Michael Hird (112no) and Tim Gates (107). The Sandylands side set off in pursuit and at 188-5 in the 32nd over they were in with an outside chance of taking the points. However Mark Laycock wrapped up the tail to finish with 4-65 as the innings closed on 215-9. S Walker made 50, Nigel Carr 39 and John Stuttard 30.

Pendle Forest beat Embsay by 287 runs with Brian Snowden taking 6-24 as the Shires Lane side were dismissed with 12 overs remaining.

There was a tight finish at Glusburn where the home side made 164-9. Haworth fell just seven runs short of their target, Glen Ogden making 45.

Ingrow St John's are leaders of the Fourth Division on run rate from Foulridge, but were without a game at the weekend while Cononley saw off the challenge of Cononley at Noyna. The home side rattled up 250-6 with Mark Barnes (70) top scoring. Cononley were dismissed for 136 despite a fighting innings of 46 from C Lumsden.

Denholme are third after seeing off the challenge of Airedale. Denholme scored 156-9 and then rolled the Keighley side out for 91 with William Briggs claiming 6-18.

Cullingworth beat Pendle Forest by 81 runs and Gargrave beat Keighley Tech by 52 runs.
