GREAT HORTON clawed their way back to victory after struggling against Keighley's bowling attack.
Ross Towler and Steve Reape reduced the visitors to 61 for eight and they looked down and out.
However, tailender Ali rescued the innings with a defiant knock of 43 to get them to a respectable score.
The 121 target didn't appear too challenging, particularly as openers Alan Broadley and Lee Gordon got them off to a flying start, scoring 41 runs in 10 overs, but they suffered from some of the worst umpiring decisions seen for many years at Lawkholme Lane as the finger shot up for five dubious lbw decisions.
The was also a questionable 'caught behind' call.
After the game skipper David Jaques reported the umpire to the Bradford League for his eight lbw's in the game.
After their first wicket fell at 41 the terrible decisions led to a collapse of monumental proportions with three wickets falling with the score on 50, the next on 56, the sixth wicket on 58 and two on 63.
Ross Towler managed to avoid the 'fickle finger of fate' and went onto score an undefeated 21 but he could not find a partner able to hang around long enough as the side was dismissed for 98, a total of 23 runs short of their target.
On Bank Holiday Monday they struggled to recover after losing the early wickets of Alan Broadley and Lee Gordon. Both openers were back int he pavilion with just one run on the board.
Although Tom Bould (13) and Aussie Joel Crouch (49) dug in to rebuild the innings they lost their last six wickets for just 25 runs.
Crouch was the last wicket to fall as he attempted to give the total a degree of respectability.
With very few runs to play with opening bowlers Ross Towler and Steve Reape had little room for manoeuvre. Towler picked up two wickets, but Woodlands, who are top of the Bowse section of the league, had little trouble as they secured an eight wicket win.
