IT HAS been a great week for the club beginning with an outstanding performance against Sheffield Eagles. If anything the scoreline flattered them as we conceded a late try.
That game was a real indication of the progress we have made in such a short space of time.
HOWEVER, we didn't have much time to enjoy our victory as we were straight into our preparation for the Trans-Pennine Cup Final against Leigh.
Although the Centurians proved too big and too fast for us at this moment in time our players gave everything they had in a very tough encounter. One major benefit from the game is that the young lads were able to experience what it is like to play against a top level outfit, and they will have leant some valuable lessons.
THE ADDITION of 'Two Bobs' -- Bob Roberts -- who started his career at Keighley, has given the team a tremendous boost.
I hope to have added a couple more players to the squad by the end of next week as we target the last five games of the season.
I WOULD like to give a big mention to the reserve grade team which gained a 30-18 victory over Workington last Saturday. Two thirds of the team was made up of local amateurs and w are very grateful to those players -- and their clubs --for their co-operation and assistance.
THIS Sunday we travel to Featherstone who will be keen to edge their way into the top four of the NFP.
However, I am confident that our players can take the game to Rovers and with our fair share of luck and 50-50 calls from the referee, we are capable of causing a shock.
