Bradford City are ready to base their reserve team at Park Avenue next season.
City have put forward Horsfall Stadium and Farsley Celtic's Throstle Nest as possible venues for second-string matches to protect the Valley Parade pitch.
But they favour a move to Park Avenue and will go there once the facilities have been passed by the FA Premier Reserve League.
City managing director Shaun Harvey said: "Our prime concern is to get reserve-team football away from Valley Parade and we have identified two possibilities.
"Our first choice would be Park Avenue and providing they meet the criteria the league will be looking for, then that will be where most of the home games will take place.
"There is a capacity there of 2,500 which should be ample for most reserve matches although when we play teams like Leeds and Manchester United, depending on the time of the season they could be switched back to Valley Parade."
Unibond League side Avenue welcomed the move to bring the former professional rivals closer together.
Club press officer Tim Clapham said: "We've long wondered why they should have gone to Farsley rather than stay in the city of Bradford so we are delighted if they come to Horsfall.
"Our pitch will probably be in a better condition than Farsley because we don't run a second team which means less wear and tear. It has improved a lot over the past few years and is now one of the best in the Unibond League.
"We've got our new clubhouse up and running now and are trying to get more people down. This could obviously bring in extra revenue and other spin-offs such as attracting supporters here for our league matches as well."
