Bingley Congs, Laisterdyke and Thornton (31 points each) share first place after picking up maximum points on Saturday in the Bradford Central League.

At Bingley, Simon Hagerty (5-37) and Andrew Copping (4-35) put out strugglers Crossflatts for 79, Congs winning by eight wickets.

Laisterdyke won by the same margin at Jer Lane, where the home side were 132 all out, Dave Matthews taking six for 50. Derek Robinson (63) made the top score for the winners.

Thornton had the hardest task, entertaining Girlington, who before the match were joint leaders with the other three. Mark Higgins finished with five for 48 in the visitors' 179. Thornton made the runs for the loss of just four wickets, John Ashley hitting 72.

Clayton were last season's success story, but are now struggling at the bottom with only three points from seven matches.

Great Horton Church made the highest score in the First Division (232) and then bowled Clayton out for 167. Peter Ousey (4-39) helped dismiss Norwood Green for 72 before Oxenhope won by six wickets.

Hepworth-Idle made 276 for five at Adwalton, Mike Chiltern (61), John Bogue (95) and Geoff Pinkney (84) scoring well. The home side's brave reply was 80 short.

Dave McDermott (74) made another good score for Allerton, who finished on 223 for eight. McDermott then took five for 44 as Wibsey Park Chapel were bowled out for 162, Andy Gould (54) and John Gelder (73 not out) making the top scores. Allerton and Hepworth-Idle lead Division Two on 29 points.

There was a "Boy's Own" finish at Salem. Sandy Lane were out for 150 and seemed certain of victory with the home side 98 for nine when League secretary Andy Kellett joined Mohammed Ishtiaq.

However, they added an unbeaten 54 to gain a precious victory, Ishtiaq finishing 45 not out and Kellett 11 not out.

Its all level at the top of Group C in the Bradford Mutual Sunday School League.

After losing last week and dropping six points back, Little Horton Unity hosted group leaders Central YMCA and, thanks to a century first-wicket stand between Stewart Smith (86) and Ian Davis (25), YMCA made 179 for six.

But Little Horton struck back with their own century stand between Ian Jackson (32) and Peter Sowden, who went on to complete an unbeaten ton, and they won by three wickets with two balls left.

Westwood stay third two points back after their nine-wicket win over Muff Field seconds.

A half-century from Mohammed Bismillah helped Muff Field to 166 for nine, but another century first- wicket stand between Rodger Webster (94 not out) and Tim Wilks (64) helped Westwood home.

West Bowling seconds recorded their second victory of the season, beating Mayfield C by two runs. Daisy Hill won their first game, defeating Queens Park by 12 runs.

In Group A, Yorkshire LPS remain top, despite being held to a draw in their inter-divisional game against Crown and Spice. Cambing jump to second from fifth after a high-scoring game against Amar Milan.

Mahesh Patel (61) and Mukesh Patel (74) took Amar to 212 for six, but Colin Rice (72) and an unbeaten 46 from Mohammed Khan helped Cambing home by four wickets in the last over. Bradford Gymkhana are up to third.
